As many of you know, we here at the DivingIn2Memphis.com World Headquarters ( a recently absconded three story building right in the heart of Voodoo Village) strive to keep you in the know with concerts, band interviews and other musical minutiae that should help your daily and nightly plans. Of course, one of our more pressing movements is to completely halt the workforce sitting in offices all day. We are here to make you happy and your bosses, well… not so much. Along these lines, we are now streaming an hour of music brought to you by the guys who form one of the great bands in the city. One day, I’m going to write a book about this collection of five very different souls, but for now, this is what everyone is getting. So, read on and get those headphones ready.
This show was recorded on March 23rd at the legendary and lovely Buccaneer. As it is the only bar that I’ve had to get my “sea legs” under me to get ready to walk in, it ranks up there with my favorite bars of all time. This show, though, happens to be one of the better live recordings of the band since their inception. (As a note, the Gibson Lounge show which all of you showed up in droves for- Great Turnout by the way!!- should be made available in the next few weeks.) For all of you fans out there in internetland, we will make this CD available to you if you email us at divingin2memphisdotcom@gmail.com. Just send an email with the words ‘MiniVan Show’ in the Subject line.
A few quick notes about the music. First, you need iTunes to play it. Sorry, but it’s free and easily downloadable from Apple.com and in reality, you should be using iTunes over Windows Media Player anyways. Even if you’re a Windows user, iTunes is compatible. Second, all of the tracks are on our sister site- www.divingindenver.com. While you can click on the link, come back to DI2M.com and do it all over again for each track, you can also keep clicking on the left side of the DID.com site and you’ll see how the tracks go in order. One problem, though, is that our server doesn’t like us much today, so the track names are not readable (or weren’t when we posted this) but if you continue to scroll your mouse over the unintelligible parts and click when a play icon comes up, it is the next track from the set. This continues for 12 songs. Lastly, if any of you have a good html code for downloads, please send it along because the one I have works about as well as an IRS and NCAA joint audit. As always, enjoy!
