Sometimes funny is just, well, making fun of things that you see in everyday life. Other times, it’s taking a peak into the lives of those people who just take everything a little too damn seriously and finding humor in their actions. Once in a while, those two realms of hilarity collide and bring us something so good, so funny and so true; we can’t help but openly laughing like we were in the middle of a Rodney Dangerfield set. Welcome to Despair.com.

It is quite apparent that the creator of Despair.com had spent entirely too much of his time sitting in a cubicle behind some corporate desk. It is also readily apparent that this certain someone had the boss that everyone knows all to well, the boss that spits out senseless drivel in order to communicate and motivate his masses. These motivational tools that seem, to your boss anyway, to have the same significance as Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, but in reality are no deeper than your common puddle after a three second rain. You know the boss. You just saw them in your mind’s eye.

In steps Dr. Kersten, that former someone who has introduced the world to the Art of DeMotivation, an art that needed to be founded around the same time that Marathon guy ran all of those miles (or kilometers back in those days) somewhere in Greece. Before this becomes an actual article, I’ll just give you an idea of what DeMotivation is all about.
I ordered one of his posters, brought it back into the kitchen of the restaurant where I was then-employed and put it on the wall for all the line to see.
The Picture: An order of fries
The Term: Potential
The Tagline: Not Everyone Gets To Be An Astronaut When They Grow Up

Good Times all around. And, by the way, when you go to click on Despair, go to the Demotivators link and you want to go through them by name. When you get to this page, just start scrolling down. And please remember, if you’re at work when you read these, please order one and put it in your cubicle. Or just order it for your boss.
